BMI Calculator
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a simple screening measure that relates your weight to your height. It does not directly measure body fat, but it is the most widely used first check doctors and public-health bodies use to flag underweight, healthy-weight, overweight and obesity ranges.

How this works
BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)². The World Health Organization classifies adult BMI as: below 18.5 Underweight, 18.5–24.9 Normal weight, 25–29.9 Overweight, and 30 or above Obese.

Frequently asked questions
Is BMI accurate for everyone?
BMI is a useful screening tool but does not account for muscle mass, bone density, age or sex distribution of fat. Athletes and older adults in particular may get a misleading number — the Body Fat Calculator is a better next step for them.
What is a healthy BMI range?
For most adults, the WHO defines 18.5–24.9 as the healthy range. Ranges can differ slightly for some Asian populations, where health risk rises at a somewhat lower BMI.
How often should I check my BMI?
Checking every few months is enough to track a trend — BMI is not something that needs daily monitoring.
