BMR Calculator
Your Basal Metabolic Rate is the number of calories your body needs just to keep you alive — breathing, circulation, cell repair — if you stayed in bed all day. It is the foundation for the TDEE and Daily Calorie calculators.

How this works
Uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, the formula most modern dietitians consider the most accurate for estimating resting metabolic rate: for men, 10×weight + 6.25×height − 5×age + 5; for women, the same minus 161.

Frequently asked questions
Is BMR the same as calories I should eat?
No — BMR assumes zero activity. Use the TDEE Calculator to add your activity level for a realistic daily calorie target.
