Ideal Weight Calculator
There is no single "correct" ideal weight — different formulas developed by researchers over the decades give slightly different estimates. Seeing all four together gives you a realistic range rather than one falsely precise number.

How this works
This tool computes the Devine (1974), Robinson (1983), Miller (1983) and Hamwi (1964) formulas, each of which starts from a base weight at 5 feet and adds a fixed amount per inch of extra height, with slightly different constants for men and women.

Frequently asked questions
Why do the four results differ?
Each formula was derived from a different reference population, so they diverge slightly, typically by 1–4 kg. Averaging them gives a reasonable estimate.
Does this account for muscle mass?
No — these are height-based formulas only. A muscular, athletic person may healthily weigh more than these estimates suggest.
